About the Book
Read the Review by Scott Whitmont (OKG78)

"Stalin's Wine Cellar is one of the most extraordinary, improbable, and fascinating stories about wine that I have ever read."
Quill & Pad

"It's all very entertaining – even if you know nothing about wine." Australian Financial Review

According to ABC Conversations (in the introduction to John Baker's conversation with Richard Fidler):
"In 1998, John Baker was a wine merchant in a wealthy Sydney harbourside suburb. One day he was sent a list of wine bottles with obscure names, attached to a note that asked, "Interested?" He soon realised he was looking at a list of some of the most valuable French wines in the world. It was a collection assembled by the Czars of Russia which had been hidden away by Josef Stalin in the faraway republic of Georgia. John was sent to find the cellar, accompanied by armed bodyguards, and see if he could somehow bring these antique wine bottles to auction."
