Lifelong writer's block defeated

Simon O’Hagan (OKG17) recently released his debut EP, Sanctuary Gardens, on all the major streaming platforms. He describes the five-track project as a “melting pot of genres” influenced by his journey through dark times.

“I found comfort in trying to turn the darkest of circumstances to my advantage by creating lyrics people could relate to and by pairing them with attention-grabbing music.”

Since leaving Knox, Simon has extended his passion for studying music, dedicating himself to the craft of song writing and music production. The first song he completed, ‘Feel Sorry’, was written from pure emotion, curing his lifelong writer’s block. He followed this with the release of ‘Daylight’.

“A summer anthem filled with energetic vocals and beachy guitars, it’s the polar opposite to ‘Feel Sorry’,” says Simon.
