The Knox Old Boys Pipe Band returned to the Bundanoon Highland Gathering for another enjoyable day of piping, marching and catching up last Saturday (5 April). The event is always a highlight on the calendar, and we were pleased to take part again, performing in the street parade and playing a display set in front of a large and lively crowd. It was great to spot a few Old Boys and former KGS teachers in the crowd and playing in the Massed Bands. A big thanks to Pipe Major Allan Watts (OKG77) for the time and effort he put into preparing the band for the day, and Andrew Stevenson (OKG88), Rob Tulloch (OKG75) and Sandy Tulloch (OKG07) for manning the BBQ. The band is now preparing for a number of upcoming engagements, including the Redfern Anzac Service this Sunday (14 April) at Redfern Park from around 10:45am, and Anzac Day events across Sydney and beyond on 25 April. If you're an Old Boy with a set of pipes or a pair of sticks gathering dust - or just an enthusiasm to learn or play again - you'd be very welcome to join us. Rehearsals are generally on Sunday afternoons from 5:00–6:30pm in the Band Room at Knox.
