An update from Club President, Tony Fotopoulos (OKG10) The OKGA Knights capped off a most successful and dominant season claiming the Northern Suburbs Basketball Wednesday Men's Premier Division Title with an emphatic 79-52 win in the Grand Final. After securing our second minor premiership in four seasons with a commanding 15-2 regular season record, a relentless work ethic and unity laid the foundation for a finals campaign where the team went undefeated with an average winning margin of 32 points. Success was anchored by teamwork, defence and a culture built on hard work. Lifted by standout contributions across the board, the OKGA Knights can proudly celebrate an historic achievement that will inspire future players for years to come. The team included Josh Pain (OKG20), Adam Thoma (OKG20), Keanu Goehring (OKG21), Tyler Arndt (OKG21), Matt Pain (OKG22), Ben Williams (OKG23), Harry Liubinskas (OKG24), Lachlan Pain (OKG24), Alex Chen (OKG24) and Tony Fotopoulos (OKG10).
A big congratulations to Josh Pain for winning his second Most Valuable Player award for the team and Matt Pain, who won Defensive Player of the Year for the second time. The OKGA A team finished the season strong, just missing out on finals. Their form competing against the top teams gives them plenty of optimism for a promising Autumn 2026 season. The OKGA B team should be incredibly proud of reaching the semi-finals, a testament to their effort and commitment throughout the season. The OKGA C team concluded an exceptional regular season, finishing just one spot short of the semi-finals. Their competitiveness and growth kept them in the hunt until the very end. |
