OKG Community Support - Heroic Challenge Update
Friday, 17 March 2023
Gil Garrett (OKG18) who set out from Uluru on his push bike on 26 February bound for the Opera House, is now well over the halfway mark and back in NSW. Since his ride began, Gil has battled headwinds, swallowed gallons of chocolate milk, met some incredible people and pitched his tent before stunning sunsets over red earth. Pushing through the pain, he has clocked up more than 2,000kms in support of TLC for Kids. Follow the final days of his adventure on Instagram.

Meanwhile, the Old Boys from the Class of 2017 taking on the States by running 80 marathons in 80 days have successfully completed 25 marathons and are soldiering on. Coincidentally, Max Cutrone, Rory Cheal, Sean Stuart and Jasper Gotterson are also battling headwinds, pain and drinking chocolate milk. Through focusing on the reason for undertaking the challenge, and the team’s camaraderie, however, their spirits remain high. Jamie Shakespeare  (OKG91) and his wife Thi will Walk for Kids with Cancer next weekend (26 March).
