Birdeater, a debut feature film written and co-directed by Jack Clark (OKG14), has been selected for the 2023 Sydney Film Festival (SFF). The film directed in partnership with Jim Weir, a fellow graduate of the Australian Film Television and Radio School (AFTRS), stars Ben Hunter (OKG13).

It’s not the first time Jack’s work has been featured at the SFF. His short film, Threshold, which earned Jack a nomination for the Byron Bay Film Festival’s Young Australian Filmmaker of the Year Award (2020), was showcased two years ago.

Described as a home-grown psychological thriller, Birdeater tells the story of a bride-to-be who reluctantly attends her fiancé’s buck’s party. The world premiere, already a sell-out, is on June 11. Tickets are still available for the second screening on 14 June (SFF website).

Other recent acting credits for Ben Hunter include RFDS (Channel 7) and Mr Inbetween (Foxtel).
