Bruce Wood (OKG74) was recently invited to umpire his third successive Nova 969 Backyard Cricket match with Fitzy, Wippa and Kate at Kirribilli House. Continue reading the report from Bruce: "It was pretty cool umpiring The Hon. Chris Minns MP, Premier of NSW, bowling to Prime Minister The Hon. Anthony Albanese MP, as well as the other celebrities. The game was played in great spirits and valuable funds were raised for Ronald McDonald House Charities and batyr Australia. There was plenty of friendly banter between the captains, Fitzy and Kate, with Fitzy’s team prevailing in the end. I made a couple of ‘generous’ umpiring decisions to extend the batting innings of our host (the Prime Minister), much to the amusement of the commentators, Brendon, Julian and Wippa." Experienced umpires Meanwhile, Bruce welcomes enquiries from any experienced umpires who may wish to join the CAS umpiring panel.
