Two Old Boys from Mainbrace Constructions’ Executive Management Team delivered an online Careers presentation to more than 50 Knox students and parents on 30 October. In a session co-hosted by the OKGA and the School, Angus Greenwood (OKG07), Head of Data, Technology and Systems and Dan Morelli (OKG04), NSW Interiors Manager provided an overview of their individual career trajectories in the Construction industry, from Knox to university and the Mainbrace Cadet Program. Gus encouraged the students to search for a company with opportunities for career progression, referring to the Mainbrace organisation chart which shows the extensive range of roles in commercial construction companies today. A graduate of UTS Business, Dan demonstrated an alternate pathway into the industry, and how volunteering to take on new challenges can be rewarded with more senior roles. To further demystify careers in construction, Dan also explained the stages involved in the life span of a major construction project. Following the presentation from Gus and Dan, attendees also heard from the Jasmine Carter of @masterbuildersnsw. |
